1st of April 2009 which is April Fool’s Day, Conficker worm might received commands from their masters or someone who created it. The main motive of this worm is still unknown till now. Some advice to you is that it is best to patch up your Windows OS, install anti malware software, anti spyware software, anti virus software all which will protect your PC from the Conficker Worm attacks. I used Zone Alarm software which provides me total protection of my PCs and I feel safe. I myself have 3 PCs so there is definitely a need to setup my security wall.
It is suspected that the Conficker worm will attack on April Fool’s Day and it had already spread itself to 500 websites automatically which to date will spread to 500,000 websites by itself. It’s one the of most dangerous worm ever. One mystery is that the Conficker Worm actually is waiting to receive commands from it’s creator and so far there is no attacks and we can’t be sure when is the attack. Microsoft Company had already setup their own team to defeat this worm and also they had placed a huge sum of money of US250,000 to find out the creator of this Conficker Worm.
The worm at it’s stage now is hard to stop it now is because the worm had set itself to be able to modified itself to be harder to dig out and kill it and continue to infect PCs around the world.
To date more than 2 millions PCs are infected with the Conficker Worm and even after April Fool ’s Day if there is still no attacks, the attacks is still remain to be threatening. So once again, install Zone Alarm for the best protection.
Make sure all Anti Virus softwares are installed and firewall turned on too. This Conficker Worm takes advantage of networks of PCs and it is also self-replicating itself. It can spread through the internet or even in thumbdrive where is it pluck from PC to PC. This Conficker worm once infected it can either install unwanted software in your PC and gain control of it for spamming email, sending you to phishing websites and at worst it will turn “zombie” PCs into “botnet” armies with the fatal blow to users.
To find out whether if your PC is infected to the Conficker worm, try going to anti virus software company like zone alarm or Norton or Trend Micro, if you have problems going to these sites, most properly your PC is infected as these company have online free antivirus scan for you.
